Tips for Using Othello Navigator
- Links: Throughout Othello Navigator quotations are linked to the text of the play. These links are numerous, so that you can easily move back and forth--using the arrow buttons on your browser--between a summary and the text.
- Copying Text: Othello Navigator is protected by copyright, but you can copy anything in the program for legitimate academic purposes. To copy, use the same commands as you use in your word processing program. If you keep a word processing document open, you can easily click over to the document window and paste what you've copied, then click back to Othello Navigator.
- Citation: The Columbia Guide to Online Style recommends the following format for "Humanities Style" bibliographic listing of a electronic source:

- The Text: The text of Othello that is included in this program is a version of the "Moby" electronic text, which you can find on-line at http://the-tech.mit.edu/Shakespeare/works.html.
- Line Numbers: In the text of Othello, the line numbers will correspond very well with the line numbers in modern double-column editions of Shakespeare, such as The Riverside Shakespeare, edited by G. Blakemore Evans, or The Complete Works of Shakespeare, edited by David Bevington, but be sure to check all quotations taken from Othello Navigator against a text approved by your instructor or editor.
